Expands General Municipal Law Section 207-c to include directors of bay constables, assistant directors of bay constables, bay constable II, and bay constables employed by the Department of Conservation and Waterways in the town of Hempstead, Nassau County.

Requires municipalities to pay full regular salary or wages to covered bay constables injured or taken sick in the performance of duties until disability ceases, plus all medical treatment and hospital care costs.

Authorizes municipal health authorities or appointed physicians to examine injured or sick bay constables and terminates wage/medical liability once the employee is certified as physically able to return to regular duties.

Bay constables who refuse authorized medical treatment or inspections waive their rights to payment for medical expenses and wages after such refusal.

Changes terminology throughout the statute from "policeman" to "police officer" and updates gender references to "he or she" and "his or her."
