Changes references throughout New York state law from "office of mental retardation and developmental disabilities" to "office for people with developmental disabilities" across 18 state statutes and the NYC administrative code.

Updates terminology in election law, executive law, public health law, education law, social services law, correction law, criminal procedure law, and family court act to reflect the renamed office.

Applies the name change to references in committees, councils, and agencies that coordinate with or oversee the office, including the most integrated setting coordinating council, advisory committees, and various state agencies.

Maintains all substantive powers, duties, and responsibilities of the office; this is a technical correction bill that updates language only.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
