Amends the general municipal law section 219-d to correct a cross-reference from "section nineteen-m" to "section nineteen-e" regarding service award program requirements.

Allows changes to entitlement age, years of ambulance service required, and activities for service awards through governing board resolution with 60% affirmative vote, without requiring a referendum.

Subjects amendments to mandatory referendum if they increase points granted for activities, decrease the amount of activity required to earn points, or both.

Effective amendments to service award programs take effect January 1st following completion of adoption proceedings and apply only prospectively.

Takes effect on the same date as the 2017 law amending the general municipal law relating to service award programs (S. 899 and A. 6873).
