Repeals subdivision 9 of section 2502 of the education law relating to Albany city school district board elections.

Amends section 2601 to remove reference to subdivision 9, keeping only subdivision 9-a of section 2502 as applicable exceptions for city school districts with fewer than 125,000 residents.

Updates sections 2601-a to remove references to "subdivisions nine and" in two separate provisions, leaving only subdivision 9-a as applicable to board of education election procedures and voter qualification rules.

Takes effect immediately, except amendments to subdivision 2 of section 2601-a are subject to expiration and reversion pursuant to existing law from 2011, at which time alternative provisions become effective.
