Authorizes the town of Camillus to allow police officer Erik Sauer to participate in the optional retirement plan under section 384-d of the Retirement and Social Security Law, despite missing the original enrollment deadline through no fault of his own.

Requires the town of Camillus to file a resolution with the state comptroller within 180 days of the act's effective date, certifying that Sauer did not negligently bar himself from the plan.

Allows Sauer to elect coverage under section 384-d within one year of the act's effective date and entitles him to all associated rights and benefits.

The town of Camillus must bear all past service costs, estimated at $39,300 as a one-time payment, plus approximately $7,100 in increased annual contributions for fiscal year 2019.

The act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
