Establishes a 17-member Senior Housing Task Force within the Office for the Aging to meet at least four times across different geographical areas of the state.

Task force membership includes representatives from nine state agencies (Office for the Aging, Division of Housing and Community Renewal, Department of Health, Office of Mental Health, Department of Economic Development, Empire State Development Corporation, Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, Division of Protective Services for Adults, and NYC Department for the Aging) plus eight additional members appointed by the Governor based on legislative recommendations representing housing and senior citizen groups.

Task force is co-chaired by the Director of the Office for the Aging and the Commissioner of the Division of Housing and Community Renewal and must conduct a statewide assessment of senior housing needs including health care, long-term care, financial resources, and transportation needs, with projections for the next ten years.

Assessment shall review innovative senior housing approaches from other states and develop a viable plan with specific actions, steps, and time frames to provide quality senior housing meeting projected senior needs.

Task force must issue a report by January 1, 2020 with findings and recommendations to be delivered to the Governor, legislative leaders, and relevant committee chairs in both chambers.
