Amends small claims jurisdiction provisions in four court acts (New York City Civil Court, Uniform City Court, Uniform District Court, and Uniform Justice Court) to allow claims to be filed where the claim arose, in addition to existing defendant residency/employment requirements

Applies to monetary claims not exceeding $5,000 in city and county courts, and $3,000 in justice courts, exclusive of interest and costs

Adds "or the claim arose" language to jurisdiction criteria, allowing plaintiffs to file in the municipality or county where the cause of action originated rather than only where the defendant resides or works

Takes effect immediately upon enactment
