Board of Standards and Appeals must mail copies of all variance and special permit applications to owners of real property within one mile of the affected land within five days of receiving the application.

Board must also mail copies of community board and borough board recommendations regarding applications to property owners within one mile of the affected land.

Board must mail copies of all decisions (grants or denials) regarding variance and special permit applications to property owners within one mile of the affected land by first class mail.

Amendments apply to two separate sections of the New York City Charter (sections 668 a-c and 668 c-e) to ensure consistent notification requirements.

Act takes effect 30 days after enactment and applies to all applications filed with the board on or after the effective date.
