Amends Family Court Act Section 846-a to clarify that courts may modify existing orders of protection, create new orders, forfeit bail, order counsel fees, or jail respondents up to six months for willful violations.

Requires that any commitment to a definite jail term resulting from a determination of criminal contempt must be based upon proof beyond a reasonable doubt.

Allows courts to immediately revoke firearms licenses and require surrender of firearms when willful violations involve violent behavior constituting menacing, reckless endangerment, assault, or attempted assault.

Makes firearm revocation and surrender mandatory when willful violations involve infliction of physical injury or use or threatened use of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
