Adds new section 352 to Agriculture and Markets Law making "causing the death of an animal" a class D felony when death results from crimes under sections 353 or 353-a.

Removes "or kills" language from section 353, which prohibits animal cruelty, shifting animal death prosecutions to the new felony statute.

Removes "intentionally kills or" from section 353-a aggravated cruelty statute, leaving only the serious physical injury provisions in that section.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
