Directs the director of classification and compensation of the department of civil service to study and publish a report on nurse practitioner positions by July 1, 2018.

Report must examine current job descriptions for nurse practitioner titles and identify changes needed to accurately reflect actual duties of such positions.

Report must determine if current salary allocations for nurse practitioner positions adequately reflect their responsibilities and duties.

Report must assess whether a career ladder should be established for nurse practitioners, similar to those used for other licensed medical professionals including registered nurses, social workers, rehabilitation counselors, dentists, and doctors.

Report must evaluate whether state recognition of board certification is needed for nurse practitioners.
