Requires informational leaflets provided to maternity patients to include information about possible complications from pregnancy that can lead to death, in addition to existing maternal depression information.

Directs the health commissioner, in consultation with official boards responsible for reviewing maternal mortality causes, to review and update information on life-threatening pregnancy complications as necessary.

Mandates maternity care include screenings and referrals to identify conditions presenting a serious threat to the mother's life in the year after pregnancy.

Requires informational leaflets be made available in the top six languages spoken in New York State other than English, based on latest U.S. Census Bureau data.

Prohibits hospitals from charging patients additional fees for maternal depression screening, referrals, and clinical assessments beyond standard maternity inpatient admission charges.
