Authorizes the town of Camillus in Onondaga County to make the optional retirement plan (Section 384-d of the Retirement and Social Security Law) available to police officer Erik Sauer, who missed the deadline due to reasons beyond his own negligence.

Requires the town of Camillus to file a resolution with the state comptroller within 180 days of the effective date certifying that the officer did not bar himself from participation through his own negligence.

Allows Erik Sauer to elect coverage under Section 384-d within one year of the effective date and grants him full rights and benefits associated with that coverage.

The town of Camillus must bear all past service costs associated with the changes, estimated at $39,300 as a one-time payment on February 1, 2019, plus approximately $7,100 in increased annual contributions for fiscal year 2019.

The act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
