Requires the director of elder services, in conjunction with the state board of pharmacy and after consulting the department of health, to prepare and publish a guide for seniors age 62 and older explaining drug purposes, functions, and common drug interactions.

Guide must include information on effects of combining medications with alcohol consumption and must display a prominent 14-point type caution on the first page advising against starting, stopping, or altering medications without consulting a healthcare practitioner.

Guide must be made available for free on the director's website and through designated agencies, and translated into the six most common non-English languages spoken by individuals with limited English proficiency in New York according to U.S. Census data.

Requests for more than ten copies of the guide are subject to a reasonable charge to cover reproduction and handling costs.

Takes effect September 1 following enactment.
