Amends Social Services Law Section 131-n to align the homestead exemption used for public assistance calculations with the homestead exemption specified in Civil Practice Law and Rules Section 5206(a)

Modifies the home exemption provision to cap the value of a home excluded from resource calculations at the amount specified in the civil practice law homestead exemption, rather than using a separate standard

Adds a lien provision allowing social services districts to recover assistance costs and impose liens on real property that households are making good faith efforts to sell during a six-month exemption period

Takes effect immediately upon enactment, with the amendments to Section 131-n expiring and reverting according to that section's existing expiration provisions
