Adds "fuel-flexible linear generator electric generating equipment" to the definition of "alternate energy production facility" in the Public Service Law, with a capacity limit of up to 80 megawatts.

Extends net energy metering provisions and interconnection requirements to customers who own, lease, or operate fuel-flexible linear generator equipment on residential or non-residential premises.

Defines "fuel-flexible linear generator" as an integrated system with oscillators, cylinders, and electricity conversion equipment that directly converts linear motion into electricity with a combined rated capacity of no more than 2,000 kilowatts.

Applies the same interconnection standards, safety requirements, and credit mechanisms to fuel-flexible linear generator equipment as existing alternate energy production facilities like solar, fuel cell, and micro-hydroelectric systems.

Limits customer costs for required dedicated transformers or other safety equipment to $350 for residential installations, consistent with existing provisions for other renewable energy systems.
