Allows Westchester Correction Officers Benevolent Association members employed as correction officers in the New York State and Local Employees' Retirement System to receive service credit for unpaid maternity or bonding leave taken under a collective bargaining agreement, provided they returned to the same position.

Members may obtain up to three years of service credit for up to three years of unpaid leave.

Members must have at least five years of credited service (not including the new service credit) to be eligible for this benefit.

Westchester County bears all costs of implementing the act, estimated at approximately 18% of an affected member's most recent 12 months of compensation per year of additional service credited.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
