Authorizes school districts, boards of cooperative educational services, and nonpublic schools to have licensed health professionals train unlicensed school personnel to administer prescribed glucagon or epinephrine auto injectors in emergency situations when a licensed health professional is unavailable.

Requires written permission from a physician or authorized health care provider and written parental consent before unlicensed personnel may administer these medications to students.

Permits administration during the school day on school property and at school functions as defined by education law.

Requires training to be provided by a physician or licensed health care professional in a competent manner, with form and manner prescribed by the commissioner in regulation.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
