Robert J. Beston is honored for receiving the 2020 Third Age Achievement Award for Government by Lifepath at the organization's 24th Annual Awards Ceremony on May 25, 2020.

Beston served 23 years with the Watervliet Police Department and operated a body shop for nearly 18 years while simultaneously building a career as a plumber and caterer.

Appointed to a vacant Albany County Legislature seat in 2001, Beston has been reelected to the position since his initial appointment.

Beston is recognized for organizing numerous fundraising dinners featuring his signature cooking and "special sauce" that have brought thousands of attendees to benefit local non-profit organizations.

The resolution recognizes Beston's sustained commitment to enhancing community well-being and vitality in Watervliet and the surrounding area.
