Removes language prohibiting physicians from employing physician assistants, while retaining the prohibition on supervising more than four physician assistants in private practice at any one time.

Maintains the existing allowance for physicians employed by the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision to supervise up to six physician assistants at any one time.

Adds clarification that supervision limitations do not modify conditions relating to the performance of medical services required under existing law.

Takes effect on January 1st following enactment, with authorization for regulatory agencies to implement necessary rules and regulations before the effective date.
