Permits community boards or neighborhood boards to grant exemptions from the proportional distribution requirement

Mandates that new supportive housing facilities be sited in boroughs with the lowest existing concentration of such facilities relative to their population

Requires approval from the appropriate community board or neighborhood board before any supportive housing facility can be sited, constructed, or established in cities of one million or more

Defines supportive housing facilities as not-for-profit operated residences funded by federal, state, and municipal governments serving individuals with mental illness, trauma, chemical dependency, chronic illness, and shelters for homeless individuals, abused women and children, and veterans
