Allows domestic violence victims to opt out of shared utility contracts without charge by submitting a written request and supporting documentation to the utility corporation.

Accepted documentation includes domestic violence incident reports, police reports, orders of protection, or signed affidavits from medical/mental health providers, court employees, social workers, rape crisis counselors, or domestic violence advocates.

Requires documentation to be submitted within six months of issuance and must relate to the domestic violence incident.

Mandates utility corporations waive all otherwise applicable charges for customers exercising this opt-out provision when claims are made in good faith.

Takes effect immediately and applies to utility contracts entered into on or after the effective date.
