Election commissioners and designated board of elections employees must complete a mandatory training course within six months of their first appointment, provided by the state board of elections and not exceeding 30 hours.

Annual continuing education of no more than 3 hours is required for election commissioners and designated employees, to be completed before June 1st each year.

The state board of elections shall provide annual training through web-based recorded format in addition to other methods.

The state board of elections must notify the county legislature or city council and respective county party chair if a commissioner or employee fails to complete required training on time.

The act takes effect 180 days after becoming law, with rule-making authority granted immediately for implementation.
