State Board of Elections must study and evaluate blockchain technology's use in protecting voter records and election results, in consultation with the Office of Information Technology Services.

Blockchain technology is defined as distributed ledger technology using a decentralized, shared and replicated ledger (public or private) with cryptographic data protection, immutability, auditability, and uncensored truth provision.

State Board of Elections must submit a report to the governor and legislature within one year of the act's effective date, considering blockchain applications in other formats and states.

Evaluation must include assistance from experts in blockchain technology, voter fraud, cyber security, voter records, and election results.

Act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
