Expands the definition of "paid firefighter" in General Municipal Law Section 207-a to include paid employees of county airports or county aviation departments who perform fire response or fire rescue duties

Entitles county airport and aviation department employees performing fire duties to receive full salary and wages during disability caused by job-related injuries or illnesses, matching benefits provided to other paid firefighters

Makes county airports and aviation departments liable for all medical treatment and hospital care costs for covered employees during their disability period

Allows municipal health authorities or appointed physicians to examine injured or sick employees and certify when they are physically able to return to duty, at which point employer liability for wages and medical costs ends

Takes effect immediately upon enactment
