Commissioner of Health must develop and make available information about bone marrow donation and registries, including the National Marrow Donor Program "Be The Match Registry" and The Bone Marrow Foundation.

Required information must include the need for bone marrow donations, patient populations that would benefit, how to join the bone marrow registry, and how to acquire free buccal swab kits.

Department must make information available to the public on its website and through other means, and provide materials to physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners for dissemination.

Primary care physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners may ask new patients aged 18-44 on intake forms whether they are registered with the bone marrow registry, and must provide department materials to unregistered patients.

Act takes effect January 1 following enactment, with authority for necessary rule and regulation amendments to be completed before that date.
