Authorizes the town board of Smithtown to extend the boundaries of the St. James fire district to include the village of Head of the Harbor in its entirety upon expiration of the current fire protection contract between the village and the fire district.

Requires the extension to occur in accordance with subdivision 2 of section 170 of the town law.

Subjects the St. James fire district and town board to all provisions of article 11 of the town law following the boundary extension, maintaining all existing powers, duties, and responsibilities.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
