S. 7324 - Voter Registration Integrity Act

• Requires first-time voter registration applicants to provide documentation of U.S. citizenship in addition to proof of New York residency.

• Acceptable citizenship documents include an original or certified birth certificate, valid U.S. passport, certificate of naturalization or citizenship, or other documentation approved by the board of elections.

• Applies citizenship documentation requirements to both standard first-time registrations and registration applications submitted without prior voter identification documentation.

• Takes effect 60 days after enactment, with board of elections authorized to adopt necessary rules and regulations immediately.
