Director of the Office for the Aging, in conjunction with the State Board of Pharmacy and Department of Health, shall prepare and publish a drug guide for persons over age 62 explaining drug purposes, functions, and common drug interactions.

Guide must include information about the effects of combining medications with alcohol consumption and display a prominent 14-point type caution on the first page warning against changing medications without consulting a healthcare provider.

Guide shall be made available on the director's website and distributed free of charge through designated aging agencies in English and the six most common non-English languages spoken by limited English proficient individuals in New York according to U.S. Census data.

Requests for more than ten copies shall be subject to a reasonable charge to cover reproduction and handling costs.

Guide shall be updated as needed to maintain accuracy and relevancy; act takes effect September 1 following enactment.
