Amends town law to allow the Fire Island Pines fire department to adopt a resolution moving the nomination meeting for chief and assistant chiefs from April to the second Saturday in September.

Permits the board of fire commissioners to adopt rules allowing future nomination meetings to be held on the second Saturday in September instead of April, consistent with the fire department's adopted resolution.

Maintains existing requirements that nominees must be fire department members, nominations made by ballot, and the board of fire commissioners appoints officers at its January meeting.

Allows the fire department to subsequently adopt a resolution to return nomination meetings to April, reverting to standard procedures under existing law.

Takes effect 90 days after becoming law.
