• Specifies that essential medical equipment includes apnea monitors for infants, cuirass respirators, hemodialysis machines, IV feeding machines, IV medical infusion machines, oxygen concentrators, positive pressure respirators, respirator/ventilators, rocking bed respirators, suction machines, and tank type respirators
• Includes any medical equipment necessary for individuals whose medical conditions would be significantly triggered or exacerbated by power loss and would adversely impact their health
• Requires utility companies to identify and reach out to customers who have documented their need for essential electricity for medical purposes
• Takes effect immediately upon enactment
