Allows nurse practitioners with more than 3,600 hours of practice to work independently without requiring a written practice agreement and written practice protocols with a collaborating physician.

Permits nurse practitioners to collaborate with either a licensed physician or another nurse practitioner (instead of physician-only collaboration) for diagnosis and treatment decisions.

Eliminates the requirement to file practice protocols with the Department of Education within 90 days and removes the commissioner's authority to establish protocol review procedures.

Removes the sunset provision from the 2014 "Nurse Practitioners Modernization Act," making its provisions permanent rather than expiring on June 30 of the sixth year after enactment.

Takes effect on January 1 following enactment, with immediate authorization for regulatory changes needed for implementation.
