Requires all persons applying on or after January 1, 2022 for a teaching certificate or license as a special education teacher to complete enhanced coursework or training in childhood trauma and its impact on child development and learning

Mandates that all certified school administrators and special education administrators assigned on or after January 1, 2022 receive enhanced training in the needs of children who have experienced trauma, provided before or as soon as practicable following assignment

Requires school administrators serving as of January 1, 2022 to complete the trauma training by that date

Specifies that enhanced coursework or training must be obtained from department-approved institutions or providers, though school districts and cooperative educational services may provide commissioner-approved professional development to administrators

Takes effect immediately upon enactment
