Repeals sections 6-164 and 6-166 of the election law and subdivision 4 of section 6-158, eliminating the "opportunity to ballot" petition mechanism.

Removes references to petitions for opportunity to ballot from election law provisions governing objections to nominations, ballot printing, and contested elections.

Eliminates the requirement to hold primary elections when only one candidate is designated for judicial vacancies unless an opportunity to ballot petition is filed.

Removes opportunity to ballot petition references from misconduct provisions in election law related to inducements and false statements on nomination petitions.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
