Requires the Trustees of the Freeholders and Commonalty of the town of Southampton to prepare and adopt an annual budget following public hearing procedures outlined in Town Law section 181.

Budget must follow the format prescribed in Town Law section 107 and be subject to budgetary controls in Town Law section 181-a and independent audit requirements in Town Law section 181-b.

Town of Southampton budget officer must attach the Trustees' budget to the annual town budget as part thereof, with no changes allowed by the budget officer or town board.

Annual budget tax levy increase cannot exceed the real property tax levy limit for the town of Southampton unless the town board approves an override by 60 percent vote, applicable only to that fiscal year.

Effective immediately and applies to all fiscal years beginning January 1, 2024 or later.
