Authority must conduct lead paint testing in conjunction with the commissioner of health in all buildings and notify all tenants if lead paint is detected.

Authority must conduct annual indoor air quality testing in all buildings and notify tenants if results exceed department of health guidelines or occupational safety and health administration standards.

Authority becomes civilly liable for actual damages to tenants who suffer adverse health conditions caused by water contamination, lead paint, or poor indoor air quality in authority buildings.

Authority must inform employees that falsifying contamination test results, signatures, or records is a crime under penal law section 175.20 (tampering with public records in the second degree) and must refer violations to local law enforcement.
