Requires insurance policies to cover inpatient hospital care for expectant mothers diagnosed with pre-term labor, defined as regular uterine contractions with cervical changes occurring between 20 and 36 weeks 6 days of pregnancy.

Mandates coverage for part-time or intermittent home nursing care by registered professional nurses to monitor expectant mothers with pre-term labor and administer Makena (17-alpha hydroxyprogesterone).

Requires coverage for mental health visits with physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, or licensed clinical social workers for expectant mothers and their families who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, infant loss within one month of birth, or pre-term labor.

Applies requirements to individual health insurance policies, group and blanket policies, and health service contracts issued by certain corporations in New York State.

Takes effect 60 days after enactment, with authorization for immediate rulemaking to implement the requirements.
