Amends New York Town Law Section 176 to allow the Cherry Grove fire department to adopt a resolution scheduling nomination meetings for chief and assistant chiefs on the third Saturday in September instead of April

Permits the board of fire commissioners in Cherry Grove to establish a rule allowing future nomination meetings to be held on the third Saturday in September as specified in the fire department resolution

Allows fire department members to later reverse this change by adopting a resolution to return nomination meetings to April

Maintains existing requirements that nominees be fire department members and that convicted arsonists are ineligible for these positions
