Allows teachers or coaches unable to obtain first aid and CPR certification due to physical disability to coach high school athletic activities if a certified staff member is present at all times during practices, scrimmages, and competitions.

Applies the disability accommodation to both public school systems (section 3001-b) and nonpublic school systems (section 3001-c).

Requires the accompanying certified staff member to hold a valid first aid certificate from a nationally recognized organization and remain present throughout all extra-class athletic activities.

Maintains existing requirements for all other coaches to obtain and maintain current first aid and adult CPR certification before each sports season.

Takes effect immediately, with amendments to training requirements coordinating with chapter 500 of the laws of 2021.
