Allows New York City Fire Department Pension Fund members (Article 14, Tiers 3) to obtain service credit for prior work as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with the NYC Employees' Retirement System that immediately preceded their fire service.

Credited EMT service shall count toward eligibility for retirement benefits and benefit amount calculations as if the service were performed in the fire department.

Eligible members must pay or transfer all applicable Article 14 member contributions plus 5% annual interest to obtain the EMT service credit; membership in NYCERS shall cease upon transfer or withdrawal.

Applies to members with at least 10 years of credited service in NYCERS, notwithstanding other provisions of law.

Estimated to increase annual employer contributions by approximately $3.2 million per year, with an average cost of $2,600 per eligible member annually.
