Allows State Police members with more than 17 years of service to receive up to 2 years of service credit for prior work as a deputy sheriff, county corrections officer, or state corrections officer engaged in law enforcement activities.

Members must pay 3% of their compensation earned during the 12 months immediately before applying for credit, with payments allowed via payroll deduction over the service period being credited.

State bears all costs beyond the member's 3% contribution, with estimated past service cost averaging approximately 22% of affected officer's annual compensation per year of additional credit.

Members who die before retirement receive a refund with interest if the purchased service credit does not produce a greater death benefit; retiring members receive a refund with interest if the credit does not produce a greater retirement allowance.

Members become immediately eligible for service retirement if the added service credit combined with current credit reaches retirement eligibility thresholds; application for credit must be made before the effective retirement date.
