Allows licensed practitioners, licensed persons, and unlicensed personnel at correctional facilities to use body imaging scanning equipment with ionizing radiation to screen inmates as part of security programs.

Requires unlicensed personnel operating the equipment to complete department-approved training before use and receive additional training annually.

Limits inmate exposure to no more than 50 percent of annual non-radiation worker exposure limits, with inmates under 18 limited to 5 percent of such limits, and prohibits scanning of pregnant women.

Requires registration of each body imaging scanning machine with the department, along with inspections and record-keeping of all equipment uses by correctional facilities.

Mandates annual reports to the department, assembly speaker, and senate president detailing equipment usage frequency, inmate exposure levels, contraband detection results, and any injuries or illnesses; the law takes effect 120 days after passage and expires after five years.
