Amends General Municipal Law Section 208-f to extend special accidental death benefits (SADB) to deputy sheriffs in the New York City Employees' Retirement System (NYCERS) who die as a result of accidents sustained in the performance of duty.

Changes the accidental death benefit for eligible deputy sheriff beneficiaries from 50% of final salary to 100% of final salary, offset by any social security and workers' compensation benefits paid.

Requires that the deceased member died before retirement as a natural and proximate result of an accident in the performance of duty, did not cause the accident through willful negligence, and was a NYCERS member at the time of the accident.

Estimated to increase the present value of future benefits by approximately $1.1 million per eligible deputy sheriff who dies under these circumstances, with annual employer contribution increases of approximately $133,000 per event.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment and is exempt from appropriation requirements under Retirement and Social Security Law Section 25.
