Establishes a rebuttable presumption that heart disease conditions resulting in disability or death for deputy sheriffs in cities of one million or more were incurred in the performance of duty, unless proven otherwise by competent evidence.

Applies only to deputy sheriffs hired through competitive civil service who passed a physical examination upon entry that revealed no evidence of heart disease.

Provides affected deputy sheriff members a pension benefit equal to 75% of final average salary upon retirement due to heart disease-related disability, increasing from the standard ordinary disability retirement benefit of one-third of salary.

Excludes application to workers' compensation law and labor law claims.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment, with estimated annual employer contribution increases of approximately $46,700 per disability retirement and $39,700 per death benefit occurrence.
