Amends Education Law Section 2801-a to add training in alternative defense skills as a required prevention and intervention strategy for school safety plans

Mandates training for all school staff in the use of gel pepper spray, tasers, and other non-lethal forms of defense

Maintains existing requirements for de-escalation training, non-violent conflict resolution, peer mediation programs, youth courts, and extended day school safety programs

Takes effect on July 1 following the date the bill becomes law
