Rhonda Frederick is being congratulated on her retirement as President and CEO of People Inc., Western New York's largest human service provider, a position she held since fall 2014.

Frederick began at People Inc. in 1980 in an entry-level direct support position and advanced through the organization, serving as Chief Operating Officer with oversight of 93% of the agency's $143 million operating budget and 3,400 employees.

As COO, she oversaw residential services, day services, service coordination, in-home supports, senior services, and health-related services, and served as liaison with regulatory agencies including OPWDD, HUD, NYS Department of Health, and NYS Office for the Aging.

Frederick is instrumental in establishing People Inc. Senior Living, which now operates 20 apartment buildings throughout Western New York providing affordable housing for eligible older adults.

She holds leadership positions including President of the Developmental Disabilities Alliance of Western New York and Board Chair for Person Centered Services, and serves on numerous boards including Special Olympics NY, Canisius College Board of Regents, and the Buffalo Niagara Partnership.
