Creates an 18-member task force on safety in school transportation, composed of five members each appointed by the governor, senate president, and assembly speaker, plus designees from the education, transportation, and motor vehicles commissioners

Task force membership shall include education and community stakeholders, parents, teachers, administrators, school bus drivers, and other school bus personnel

Task force shall study and recommend improvements to state laws, regulations, and programs addressing school bus safety, including pedestrian safety, vehicle sensor technology, bus stop designation best practices, and protocols for drivers and aides

Task force shall examine illegal passing of school buses, safety for students walking to and from school and bus stops, and the need for additional public education programs on school bus safety

Final report with findings and recommendations must be delivered by December 31, 2022 to the governor, legislative leaders, and relevant committee chairs; task force members serve without compensation but may be reimbursed for necessary expenses
