Requires state agencies, boards, and commissions that collect demographic data on ancestry or ethnic origin to use separate collection categories and tabulations for sexual orientation and gender identity or expression

Defines "gender identity or expression" as having or being perceived as having a gender identity, self-image, appearance, behavior, or expression whether or not different from that traditionally associated with the sex assigned at birth

Mandates demographic reports on ancestry or ethnic origins published on or after July 1 in the year following the law's effective date must include the separately collected data on sexual orientation and gender identity

Requires agencies to post demographic data on their websites by July 1 in the year following the effective date and annually thereafter, while protecting personal identifying information as confidential

Takes effect 120 days after becoming law
