Director of the Office for the Aging shall develop, maintain, and disseminate educational material on elder abuse types including physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation in cooperation with the Office of Children and Family Services and Division of State Police.

Director shall establish written procedures and policies for State Police officers to follow when encountering elder abuse, including provision of information and referral services.

Director shall develop a training program for senior service providers in detecting and reporting elder abuse, with inclusion of counseling training for elder abuse victims.

Employees of senior centers and entities contracted with the Office for the Aging and Office of Children and Family Services must receive training in elder abuse detection, reporting, and counseling if they have significant direct person-to-person contact with seniors, with refresher training required at least once every three years.

Senior centers must hold at least two educational sessions per year for guests and members covering elder abuse prevention, awareness, detection, and reporting procedures.
