New York State Board of Elections must review the Social Security Administration death master file annually prior to July 1st each year to identify deceased voters.

Local boards of elections must remove names of all deceased voters from registration rolls by July 30th of each calendar year following the state board's notification.

Individuals erroneously removed from voting rolls may cast an affidavit ballot in the same manner as inactive voters.

If an inquiry determines a voter was removed due to error, the affidavit ballot shall be counted and the individual's registration shall be reinstated.

The act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
